Quilt Show
Yesterday, we ate a quick breakfast (because we always get up far too late - something that has become routine for us now that the nest is empty and my husband is home), drove to my Mom and Dad's to pick them up and headed out to the Quilt Show.
One can be either tremendously inspired or totally intimidated by the magnificent quilts on display. I have decided to be inspired. I'm nearly finished with my own quilt (just 1 1/2 more blocks to hand quilt and then add the binding!)and feel like it really is possible for me to get better at this craft. The finished products are so beautiful you can't help but want to learn.

I know you're just dying to see a few of the quilts, so here goes:

My sweet husband insists that he doesn't mind doing these things with me. He says he enjoys it. How great is that?

This one took first place in its division.

This one was a wedding gift. All the guests signed the little white semi-circles with their names and a little message to the couple. The bride and groom are pictured in the center. Some people are amazingly creative.

Wishing you all a blessed weekend,

I've been to a couple of quilt shows and I'm always in awe of the talent some people have! I've never learned how to quilt and yet I adore quilts, love the way they look on beds, etc. The ones you have pictured here are fabulous and that last one, what a wonderful wedding gift that would be!!! xoxo

I think my husband would have taken me to the Houston quilt show when we were dating, however after saying I do in 1985, he would say no to the quilt show. Glad you were inspired.

Our library has an ongoing display of beautiful quilts and I so enjoy seeing them. That last one with the messages to the newlyweds was such a thoughtful and unusual gift!

I love quilt shows too, and I love the fact that your husband is happy to go with you, Linda! Quilting is such a delight, and I am really looking forward to seeing yours when it is finished too!
