Look At Me - I'm Tatting!
Several years ago I taught myself a little tatting. I made dozens of these little medallions in red, green and white in various sizes and decorated the Christmas tree with them. I also gave a bunch away as little gifts.
Last night I dug out all my supplies and began all over again. After a couple of false starts, I was able to make another medallion. Now I'd like to learn more! My Mom makes the most beautiful lace to edge her pillow cases, sheets and handkerchiefs (no tissues for her). She uses a tiny thread and her tatting is just exquisite. I don't know if I can manage that, but I'd like to learn a bit more. So many things to learn...so little time!
Blessings,

Well I never... TATTING? How could I be 56 years old and never even heard of this? I want to do it too, can you do internet lessons. This is just a beautful talent... I'm still in awe! What kind of needle do you use? Thanks for sharing this Linda. I can't wait to GOOGLE tatting!
So...question: Do you use a tatting needle or a shuttle thing-y?
I do know how to tatt too--my mom and I took a class. And after learning I'm astounded to see yards of tatting on sale at antique stores for next to nothing. Knowing how long it takes, I'm amazed a yard doesn't cost a gazillion dollars!
So pretty...
wow that's impressive! did you teach yourself?
I am so impressed - you are on a roll! What on earth do you have in mind for your next project I am wondering......
Your medallion is very pretty. I used to watch my great grandmother tatt lace, I wish I had learned how to do it. It always amazed me how a piece of fine thread turned into something so beautiful.
Oh wow! That is just gorgeous! I would love to do that...It is almost like a lost art.
God Bless!
This is beautiful and so is your quilt! You have reason to be very proud of your work!
I recently inherited some tatting and some quilts that were handmade by my Mama and had been stored away since she passed away in 1970! After my Daddy died last year these treasures were found packed away at his house!
I'm so impressed with your skills!!!
Keep sharing your talents with us!

Oooo! I want to learn to tatt! This is lovely, Linda.
I enjoyed meeting you more than you'll ever know. I hope we can meet up again on my Colorado sod.
