Blessed Be Your Name
It is always amazing to me the way the Lord meets us right at our point of deepest need. Last night one of the songs we sang as a choir for our Saturday night service was Blessed Be Your Name. It spoke to our hearts in a way that only the Lord can do. After the disappointment of losing the deal on the house, this song said all that we wanted to say.

Blessed be Your name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name.

And blessed be Your name
When I'm found in the dessert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed be Your name.

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise.
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name.

And blessed be Your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's all as it should be
Blessed be your name.

And blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering
Though there's pain in the offering
Blessed be Your name.

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise.
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say.

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name.

You give and take away.
You give and take away.
My heart will choose to say
Lord blessed be Your name.

We choose to bless His name in the good times and bad; in our joys and sorrows; in our triumphs and disappointments – because He is so good.

Blessings,
Linda

Dearest Linda...I think it's wonderful that such a song came just when you needed it the most to hear! My mom always taught us this..."no matter how bad off you think you are, there is always someone worse off." Your faith will see you through this and your friends will help you along:-) Much love xoxo

Isn't it amazing how God puts it in the hearts of people to write the songs that He then puts in our path at the exact moment we need them? I love it!

I also love yesterday's post on prayer, and plan to make a copy of those wonderful quotes!

I absolutely love this chorus. A real statement that even though you are disappointed in what has happened you still worship God for who He is. Wonderful encouragement.

Beautiful lovely words to the song! I love singing and frequently find myself filling our home with my voice too. So happy it touched you. Love your sweet positive attitude Linda. I just think you are such an inspirational friend. Throughout all of this God has used you as a vessel of encouragement! I have no doubt God will bless you in ways we can't even fathom right now. Thanks for being so sweet!

Oh we have been singing this song in church the last few weeks, and it always rings tears to my eyes. It is exactly where I am right now, just praising His name regardless. What an awesome God we serve.

I love that song! We sing it often in church and I hear it often on the radio here. We have three Christian stations up here which is rather amazing.

Prayers going up for you and God must have something much better! Hugs!

Oh, I first heard this song a few years ago when someone in my family was gravely ill, to the point of death. It became my heart's cry during that season. Thank you so much for posting it and getting it back in my head today!

And, hey- I tagged you for a fun book meme! You're it!

I love that song. I was homebound during church on Sunday recovering from an intestenal virus and the worship service I watched on TV sang that song, just when I needed it. I am glad to have a copy of the words now, from you... thanks for sharing.
