Thoughts on Christmas

I thought I would share some of the quotes I found about Christmas. I hope they bless you.

"The only blind person at Christmastime is he who has not Christmas in his heart."
Helen Keller

"Christmas, my child, is love in action. Every time we love, every time we give,
it's Christmas."
Dale Evans

"Born in a stable,
Cradled in a manger,
In the world His hands have made
Born a stranger."
Christina Rossetti

"Take Christ out of Christmas, and December becomes the bleakest and most colorless month of the year."
A.F. Wells

"You can never really enjoy Christmas until you can look up into the Father's face
and tell Him you have received His Christmas gift."
John R. Rice

"The hinge of history is on the door of a Bethlehem stable."
Ralph W. Sockman

"The very purpose of Christ's coming into the world was that He might offer up His life as a sacrifice for the sins of men. He came to die. This is the heart of Christmas."
Rev. Billy Graham

"Christmas is telling time - wondering time. Wonder enough about it and you'll know
and you'll tell about it."
Roy Rogers

"I am not alone at all I thought. I was never alone at all. And that, of course, is the message of Christmas. We are never alone. Not when the night is darkest, the wind coldest, the world seemingly most indifferent. For this is the time God chooses."
Taylor Caldwell

"It is Christmas every time you let God love someone through you...yes it is Christmas every time you smile at your brother and offer him your hand."
Mother Theresa

"It comes every year and will go on forever. And along with Christmas belong the keepsakes and the customs. Those humble, everyday things a mother clings to and ponders, like Mary, in the secret places of her heart."
Marjorie Holmes

"Christmas began in the heart of God. It is complete only when it reaches the heart of man."
Anonymous

"Thanks be to God for His unspeakable Gift.
indescribable
inestimable
incomparable
inexpressable
precious beyond words."
Lois Lebar

Blessings,

Wonderful quotes, my friend. Good collection. Thanks for your kind words on my story-telling. It seems to be my gift, as yours is devotional writing. We are all so different and it is such a blessing to read and enjoy each and every one.

Have a wonderful week - I'll be thinking of you. I read somewhere that it's shorts-wearing-bike-riding weather down there! I've looked at the 10-day forecast in Kona and it looks like quite a bit of "showers" - hope they're mistaken!

Oh, Linda, I LOVE these! What GOOD quotes! I may just have to borrow some of these.

I think my favorites are Helen Keller's and Ralph Sockman.

Thanks for sharing!

What a nice thing to do, Linda. I love all these quotes.

I'm so glad you enabled your comments again. And I'm sorry to hear about your grandson getting so sick after his surgery.

Of course he's in my prayers. This must have been a pretty bad infection if they're keeping him that long. I hope he's out of that hospital and fully recovered in plenty of time for Christmas.

Hi Linda. I'm new to your site and just wanted to say how much I've just enjoyed browsing through. Especially these quotes. There were a few I'd never heard before that I thought were just priceless. I can't decide which is my favorite. I'm doing a different post on Christmas and Christ and being a Christian just about every day during the advent season. You might want to take a look. You and I have some things in common. I'm sure I'll enjoy coming back to see you often.
